CALLING ALL ARTISTS

We are seeking artworks for the following upcoming THEMED shows at Tangent. As always, Tangent seeks high quality unique artwork with an edge not seen in most other Sacramento galleries. We are open to pretty much all media. Our themes are open to wide interpretation. We encourage submissions from artists at all levels and places within their careers. If the work fits within our curatorial vision for a particular show, it's in. That said, there are times when we see artwork that, although well executed, simply won't work with our vision for the show, space allowances, or our mission as a gallery. Please know this is a very subjective process for one specific place at one specific moment, not a forecast for one's entire art career or any type of final judgement regarding one's talent. CAMP TANGENT

For some, summer is synonymous with campfires, lanyards, night hikes, sing-a-longs, learning how to identify trees and birds, archery, poison oak, finding the big dipper, nicknames, pancakes and capture the flag.  Do you remember summer camp and/or camping?  For Tangent’s August show we are currently seeking artwork that celebrates or memorializes the spirit of summer camp and/or camping activities, good, bad or otherwise.  

Please submit images of your creations via email by August 5th totangentgallery@gmail.com

HOW TO SUBMIT AN ENTRY

You can submit artwork to Tangent gallery in two ways:

Email a selection of images (no more than 5) to tangentgallery@gmail.com
Please include in the email information about the medium and the dimensions of the pieces and a phone number where you can be reached. You may also include an artist statement, resume and/or website at this time if you have one (this is optional).

In the subject line of your email, please type the theme and the word submission. For example: PINK Submission

OR

Burn a disc of images and drop it in our mailbox at 2900 Franklin Blvd. Please be sure to include an email, a phone number and information regarding the medium and dimensions of the work either on the disc or on paper.
Please write on the outside of the envelope the theme and the work submission. For example: DEAD Submission

SUBMISSION DUE DATES

Deadline for submission for each show is the 25th of the month prior to the show. For example: tif a show is scheduled for November,  the deadline for submission is October 25th.  

We will email artists a few days after the 25th regarding whether or not their work will be included in the show. Arrangements for drop off at the gallery will be detailed at that time.
