Facets is a group of seven Northern California artists that emerged from a series of College of Marin Classes in fiber sculpture taught by Carole Beadle who promotes the role of the artist as restless researcher and rebellious experimenter.
By meeting regularly for the past eight years to critique each artist’s work in progress we have built relationships of trust in others’ ideas and opinions as we developed strong individual directions. We rely upon each other for the eyes, minds and aesthetic to help clarify the voice that is emerging through our work.
The artwork you see is but a brief stop in the continual process of questioning, searching and taking a stand. We have learned to walk along a journey and to nurture each other to develop our personal and collective vision.
Thank you for this opportunity to present our work together in Facets.
